Herring salad with peas and cucumber

  • 200g of herring fillets a'la matjas in oil
  • half a can of peas
  • 2 small pickles
  • 2 eggs
  • juice of half a lemon
  • pepper (1-1.5 teaspoon)
  • salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • half a bunch of chives

Soak herring in milk (about 8h), then cut into 2-3 cm pieces.
Drain peas, chopp pickles finely.
Cook hard-boiled eggs and cut into thick cubes.
Mix the mayonnaise with pepper, sugar and a pinch of salt.
Mix all ingredients, add the chopped chives.
